Apart from peace of mind knowing that equipment has been tested and deemed safe. More and more venues no longer allow use of disco equipment which is not PAT tested. If you cannot do the job as you do not have a certificate of PAT testing, then it will go to your competitor who is. If your equipment causes an accident or fire and it has not been tested , you may also have invalidated your insurance and be liable for any damage.

What equipment should be tested ?
All equipment which uses a plug should be tested including
CD Players, Mixers, Turntables, Amps, Effects Lights, Smoke Machines, Spot Lights, Extension Leads etc
