Many businesses are unaware of the insurance implications of not having an up to date Portable Appliance Testing programme in place. Failure to carry out the necessary tests can result in your insurance company refusing to pay out in the unfortunate circumstances of an accident or fire.
Each year there are over 1000 reported accidents at work involving electrical burns and electric shock. Around 3% of these accidents are fatal.
Faulty electrical appliances are the main cause of accidental fires in commercial premises. At present they represent over 25% of all such fires.
If you have not previously had any PAT testing carried out, we will help you approximate the number of items you have and over how many locations to provide you with an estimate. If you have had testing carried out previously, you may well have an asset list specifying the number of items and where they are. This allows us to give you a more accurate cost.

We ask that you have had your fixed electrical installation (the wiring, sockets etc within a building) checked by an electrician within the recommended period, this is usually between 1 and 5 years, depending upon the type of premises. You need to do this because the safety of many portable appliances you connect to it rely on a good earth connection. It is likely that the owner of the building will have this carried out.
Once you have decided to use us, we will schedule the testing at your convenience. Every item we test is issued an asset number and a pass label if it passes or a 'Fail do not use' label if it fails. During the testing we like to keep in touch to make sure any dangerous or faulty items found are removed, repaired or replaced without any disruption to the business.
On completion, we will go over the engineers report with you to help sort any safety issues and then give you a complete asset list, test report and certificates.
We are happy to work in the most cost effective way for you, so please get in touch to discuss your requirements - advice is free.
